Whoooo hoooooo!!! Check out what we’ve been a part of these past two months. MASSIVE is a Portland monthly fashion show and mega dance party that takes place the last Saturday of every month in fabulous Old Town at our city’s best ultra lounge, the Crown Room.
Hosted by Leigh Feldman (who throws all the most rawkus parties in PDX), Monster Vintage dressed up local cuties in head to toe vintage outfits and jewels and had them twirl and two-step to hip hop mash ups and electro music on a stage decorated in balloons, streamers and a giant banner that read, “Dat Hyphy”. Talk about a fun night. Over 700 people through the doors, amazing DJs like Sammy Bananas from NYC’s too cool label Fool’s, Monk One from Wax Poetics, DJ Zimmie and hometown celebs like Dr. Adam, Juggernaut and Nathan Detroit.
Go By Train test shoot with Portland photographer Doug Hoeschler, MUA Amy Gillespie, model princess Lia Richardson and style courtesy of yours truly via Monster Vintage and Portland designer extraordinaire Miss Sarah Seven.
The outdoor location was under the Broadway bridge by our 100 year-old train station and the vintage vehicle was a powder blue Studebaker S series 4-door sedan borrowed for the occasion by a very nice high school teacher, who spends his free time collecting the beauties.
50 and fabulous, Madge has gone and done it once again. She is all over the globe, in every high fashion magazine available, looking freakishly stunning and model’ish for Louis Vuitton. LV’s new line of handbags are dripped in luxury, stamped all over with their signature logo pattern and feature thick roped drawstrings, accented with over sized colored wooden beads. Wish listing one now.
And I found an AMAZING green furry mohair jacket that we have in our inventory right now that is very much like the Louis Vuitton furry dress/vest that Madge is wearing in one of the photos below. We only have one in stock and this piece is so so so now high couture fashion runways!!! Pair it with a tight pencil skirt and fishnet tights or skinny jeans, your favorite pair of high heels and tighten with a vintage belt! Gorgeous. Sigh.
A staple for fellas, more touch and go and generational for gals. Although the red label released new styles for the ladies this year it’s really about the oldies- sorry corporate hunks. Levi’s are being filled by more young women these days.
The lazy fuck look (see Cory Kennedy photo) can be spotted along the west coast and it’s not exclusive to women. Of course there’s many other classic styles from the brand that women are killing over the west coast, but those are another slice of the esoteric sexy pie. Find a pair and make it happen.
Big name thrifts won’t rack these pants: you’ve got to track them down at the Bins and that’s all luck and maybe some mild eczema. Peruse our inventory: ladies kick “Levis” in the search, guys may find a Levi’s category in the men’s section.
